Statute Scope is run by The Needle — News, LLC. You can reach us at statutescope@theneedlenews.com.

We keep:

• your organization's name;
• the names and work email addresses of the people on your account;
• the criteria you set, meaning the things you ask us to watch;
• a record of the alerts and digests we send;
• billing records: your plan, the dates, and your Stripe customer and subscription IDs.

Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It is secure and HTTP-only, and it expires after 30 days.

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. We count page visits with Plausible Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores no personal data: it records the page, the referring site, and the browser, device type and country, and nothing that identifies you. Stripe's script loads only on the checkout page.

Sign-in links expire after 20 minutes and work once.

We use this information to run the service: to match new records to your criteria, send alerts and digests, bill you, and answer support questions.

We don't sell it, share it, or use it in our journalism. We say publicly that your organization subscribes only with your written consent.

Stripe processes payments. Our email provider delivers our messages. Plausible Analytics counts page visits, without cookies or personal data. Everything else is hosted on servers we operate.

Our web servers keep standard access logs, recording the IP address, the time and the page requested, for security and troubleshooting.

You can unsubscribe from any email with the link at its foot.

You can ask us to correct or delete your data by writing to statutescope@theneedlenews.com. Deleting an account ends the service.

We will email account admins before we make a material change to this notice.
